This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of aircraft development programmes, supporting configuration management activities across the entire product lifecycle.Reporting to the Head of Digital Wing Configuration Management, you will play a key role in ensuring engineering change activities are delivered effectively, supporting aircraft delivery, airworthiness, and programme objectives. Working within a highly collaborative environment, you'll engage with engineering, programme, manufacturing and configuration management teams across multiple aircraft programmes.Whether you're an experienced Configuration Management professional or someone looking to take the next step in your career with strong change management experience, this role offers excellent opportunities for learning, development and exposure to cutting-edge digital transformation initiatives.What You'll Be Doing As an Engineering Configuration Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and supporting configuration management activities while ensuring adherence to quality, cost and delivery objectives.Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing engineering change process deliverables and stakeholder engagement across multiple programmes.
  • Supporting Airbus' digital transformation strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring workload priorities and mitigating risks that could impact aircraft delivery.
  • Coordinating Service Bulletin dispatch activities for in-service modifications.
  • Managing Wing Configuration Management activities for engineering design changes.
  • Supporting engineering change activities throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Programme Management, Airworthiness, Manufacturing and In-Service teams to achieve critical deadlines.
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives, implementing corrective and preventative actions where required.
  • Providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams on Configuration Management processes and methods.
  • Promoting best practice and lessons learned across the wider Airbus community.
  • Supporting digitalisation, automation and Digital Mock-Up (DMU) activities through cross-training opportunities.

Key Areas of Focus You'll be involved in a variety of Configuration Management activities, including:

  • Engineering Decision Dossier (EDD) management
  • Modification Proposal Dossier (MPD) management
  • Design Query Note (DQN) embodiment
  • Modification closure management
  • Major In-Service Problem (MISP) closure
  • Service Bulletin engineering processes
  • Digital Mock-Up (DMU) gate activities

You'll also contribute to the development and adoption of new tools, processes and digital solutions that improve efficiency and support future programme success.What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, excellent communication abilities and a solid understanding of engineering change processes.You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within Configuration Management, Change Management or a similar engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end engineering and technical change processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in engineering, aerospace, manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience Any experience with the following will be advantageous:

  • Configuration Management tools
  • Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • ICC-CADB, ICC-ACP, MCT, PrimesCCM, ACC2 or similar platforms
  • Product structure management
  • Digital skills such as Python, SQL or Skywise
  • Aerospace or engineering sector experience
