IEP Application Support Analyst

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Application Support Analyst to join the Imaging team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust for a part time, 14 hours a week position. The post holder will work as part of the RIS PACS Team managing the day to day administration and management of the Imperial College NHS Trust Sectra IEP (Image Exchange Portal). The use of the IEP supports quick and secure electronic transfer of diagnostic images and reports between NHS Trusts and some authorized Institutions without the need for production of CDs.

The post holder will act as a point of contact for Clinicians, Imaging staff and external Trust teams to ensure swift resolution of any issues they may have with the transfer of images and reports. They will also be responsible for providing training on the IEP system and processes to Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust clinical teams and their support team members as well as Imaging staff as required.

The IEP (Image Exchange Portal) post is currently based at St Mary's Hospital but the successful applicant will be expected to travel to all Imperial College NHS Trust Hospital sites (e.g. Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospitals) when required.

Main duties of the job

o Day to day administration/management of IEP and when required other Imaging applications.

o Provide application guidance & support and issue / problem resolution for IEP and when required the Diagnostic Cloud.

o Management of relationships with 3rd parties.

o Maintain systems (IEP and when required Diagnostic Cloud) reference data.

o Creation and maintenance of application support documentation.

o Maintain and update the existing and new user's database on IEP.

o To develop and maintain Standard Operating procedures (SOP's) for the IEP.

o Lead testing of new IEP connections for the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust sites.

o Be responsible for auditing, fault reporting, troubleshooting and maintenance of the IEP system.

o Provide training for use of IEP and Diagnostic Cloud including IEP with anyone requests as and when required.

o Provide cover for the Diagnostic Cloud Support Analyst during periods of absence as required.

Person Specification

Education

Essential
  • Degree or Equivalent Experience in a Health Sciences or IT-related field, or demonstrable work to an equivalent level.
Desirable
  • Project Management Qualification

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of working in a highly integrated environment
  • Evidence of having worked to documented standards
  • An excellent understanding of the patient journey and the key challenges Trust clinicians face with respect to use of systems
Desirable
  • Experience of working in an large NHS Trust
  • Experience of Supporting IEP
  • Experience of using and administering a RIS and PACS system
  • Understanding of a Hospital Patient Administration and Order Communications system

Skills

Essential
  • Experience of Application Support role in the NHS
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding NHS Data Protection, specifically GDPR 2018
  • Understanding of and adherence to legislation regarding NHS Data Protection, specifically GDPR 2018 relating to clinical data
  • Proven Issue/Problem investigation and resolution skills
Desirable
  • SQL or equivalent skill
  • Knowledge of DICOM and HL7
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products i.e MS Mail, MS Excel, MS word etc.
  • Have knowledge of RIS and PACS technology and where these technologies fit in a Modern Imaging Department.
