Position Overview:

As a 2nd Line Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing client network infrastructure. You will be responsible for troubleshooting network issues, implementing solutions, and providing exceptional technical support to ensure the reliability and efficiency of clients' networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Technical Support: Provide timely and effective 2nd line support to end-users, addressing network-related queries and issues with a high level of professionalism.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with 1st Line Support and other technical teams to escalate and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring a seamless support experience for clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Security Measures: Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard network infrastructure from potential threats.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and provide recommendations for network improvements and enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and measures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) would be an advantage.
