Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NOC Analyst to join our Network Operations Centre at a leading IT Consultancy firm based in Cambridge. As a NOC Analyst, you will be at the forefront of monitoring and maintaining the performance and availability of critical infrastructure and services for our clients across a range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor client systems, networks, and applications using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Identify and respond to incidents, alerts, and performance issues in real-time.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and documentation in the ticketing system.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party providers to resolve complex incidents.
  • Carry out routine maintenance checks, patching schedules, and health checks.
  • Assist in implementing change management procedures and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support incident, problem, and service request processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication during incident resolution.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a NOC, Service Desk, or IT support environment.
  • Good understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing/switching).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, or similar).
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a shift-based environment, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or experience working in an ITIL-aligned environment.
  • Networking certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar.
