Product Manager

Product Manager

Industry: RegTech | SaaS | Compliance

Location: Manchester / Hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 DOE

Are you a Product Manager who wants to own outcomes rather than manage a backlog, someone who uses AI in the work itself rather than just talking about it, and who's energised by shipping fast and living with the results? This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, scaling RegTech/SaaS business that's redefining what product management looks like, giving PMs genuine autonomy and real accountability for what gets built and why.

The Opportunity
You'll be joining a communications compliance supervision platform processing hundreds of millions of events monthly for thousands of organisations worldwide. You'll work across the full stack: web capture systems, large-scale data pipelines, communications archiving, and customer-facing products.

This role goes beyond backlog management. You'll set direction, defend it, and take real responsibility for what gets built and why, using AI in the work itself, for research synthesis, prototyping, competitive analysis, comms, and spec work, to move at real pace. This company is past the scrappy startup stage but still small enough that the work you do this week is in production next week, and product management is treated as a first-class discipline here, not an afterthought.

What You'll Do • Own a product area, end to end: set the roadmap, defend it to leadership, customers, and yourself, and ship weekly by default. • Directly support 1 - 3 product engineering teams of 2 - 6 people each, carrying direction, sequencing, roadmap, and the client story. The PM and the engineers decide, ship, and learn together, with no matrix or steering committee. • Use AI in the work itself: Claude, Cursor, or equivalent, every day, showing up in your PRDs, research synthesis, prototypes, and comms, not just in what you ship. • Talk to customers every week: advisors, compliance officers, ops leads, feeding their words directly into the product. • Make decisions with data on the table, mixing good judgement with hard evidence, and going to get the data yourself (or writing down the assumption) when it doesn't exist. • Communicate clearly and often: share progress openly, raise concerns early, and close the gap between what the team builds and what the customer experiences.

What You'll Bring
Essential • You've shipped things you can talk about: a product, a business, a side project. What matters is you decided what to do, shipped it to the world, and lived with the outcome. • Great taste. You have opinions about products and defend them, and you notice when something is 10% off and figure out how to fix it. • Judgement at speed. You'd rather ship, learn, and correct than gather one more signal. • A strong communicator in practice: direct, concise, opinionated, and willing to be wrong out loud. • Data literacy, comfortable with data and product analytics, and able to reason from first principles when the data isn't there. • Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar) as part of your daily workflow. • You hold yourself and those around you to a high bar.

Desirable • 2 - 4 years in PM roles, or equivalent prior experience as a founder, engineer, or designer. • Compliance / fintech / regulated-industry experience is a plus, but absolutely not a requirement. • Experience shipping features that use LLMs in production. • Familiarity with modern product analytics tooling (PostHog, Pendo, or similar). • Written or audiovisual work you're proud of: a blog, a Substack, GitHub, a YouTube video. • Experience running pod-based or squad-based teams.

What's on Offer • Competitive salary aligned with your experience. • 25 days' holiday + bank holidays (plus your birthday off). • Flexible hybrid working, Manchester based. • Juno for health / wellbeing (£100 per month). • Vitality health insurance + cash plan. • Enhanced pension contributions. • Life Insurance (4× salary). • Latest MacBook Pro + equipment budget. • Equity Appreciation Rights (EAR) - Share in our success with an opportunity to benefit from the company’s growth through our equity incentive program.
