IT Operations Manager
The Role
Ideally we are looking for someone who has done something similar in the Legal Industry and has a bit of energy and fizz.
Reporting to the IT Director, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and daily operational excellence. You will lead a talented team to maintain a secure, resilient, and high-performing environment.
You will be responsible for a team of 8 to 9 people who are spread out across two or three offices in the Midlands and to the East (Norwich and Nottingham principally).
We are looking for a senior team member who can support the CIO and will will be responsible for the help-desk, information security, and operations team.
You will also be responsible for delivering projects for the organisation although you wont (necessarily) be expected to Project Manage your self but can allocate it to one of the team. Whilst you are not expected to be crawling around under desks we would like somone who is technically aware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support: Partner with the IT Director to implement Firm-wide IT and AI strategies.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the IT Operations team, fostering a culture of high service standards and continuous learning.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and optimize our hybrid environment (on-premises and Cloud-based).
- Security & Compliance: Lead the charge on ISO27001/ISO22301 audits and manage Cyber Essentials Plus renewals.
- Innovation: Collaborate with the Digital Adoption Team to bring new technology projects to life.
- Hands-on Excellence: Participate in the out-of-hours rota and provide high-level stakeholder support.
Your Technical Toolkit
We are looking for a leader who still enjoys getting under the hood when needed. You should possess:
- Ideally we want someone with a Legal industry back ground
- Cloud & Virtualisation: Deep experience with M365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Azure/Cloud infrastructure.
- Core Infrastructure: Expert knowledge of Windows OS, SQL Server, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting.
- Resilience: A proven track record in Enterprise Backup, Replication, and Disaster Recovery.
- Cyber Security: A strong foundation in data security best practices.
- Project Management: The ability to take a project from concept to completion on time and on budget.
