Field Service Engineer

Industrious Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a leading organisation within its sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a well-established business, providing technical support and maintenance services to customers across the Chester region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance and preventative servicing of customer equipment.
  • Achieve key performance targets including First Time Fix Rate, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and stock accuracy.
  • Implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Technical Bulletins (TBs) in line with company standards.
  • Perform Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) within agreed timescales.
  • Provide effective technical support to customers both on-site and remotely.
  • Deliver first-line IT support for integrated customer solutions.
  • Work closely with customer IT teams to maintain and support networked systems and equipment.
  • Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Keep customers informed of progress and estimated completion times throughout service visits.
  • Liaise regularly with the Regional Field Service Manager to ensure effective service delivery across the region.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience providing IT support within a customer-facing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Network certification or networking experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible approach with willingness to travel and support colleagues across the UK and Ireland when required.
