Role Overview
We’re partnering with a global organisation investing heavily in AI to transform how it operates at scale. As part of this journey, they are building out a strategic capability focused on selecting, shaping, and governing the tools that enable AI adoption across the business.
They’re looking for an AI Product Strategy Lead to support a major new initiative, helping define how AI tools are evaluated, selected, and deployed across a complex enterprise environment.
This is a highly strategic role suited to someone who sits comfortably between product, technology, and business - someone who can understand where the AI landscape is heading, translate that into clear recommendations, and influence decision-making at a senior level.
Location: London, UK this is a hybrid role with client visits and regular team meetings
What You’ll Be Doing
- Establish and continuously validate product-market fit for strategic AI tooling, translating colleague and business needs into clear value propositions and adoption hypotheses.
- Define target user segments and priority use cases, ensuring tooling decisions are grounded in measurable outcomes (e.g., productivity uplift, quality, risk reduction).
- Conduct competitor analysis across the external market and client solutions, identifying differentiators, gaps, and opportunities to consolidate or scale.
- Maintain a clear view of “build vs buy vs partner” options and how they evolve over time.
- Be at the forefront of knowledge on how AI capabilities, vendors, and product patterns are moving over a 6–12 month horizon, highlighting implications for the tooling roadmap.
- Provide forward-looking insights to inform prioritisation, investment decisions, and sequencing of tooling adoption.
- Engage with GBIs to understand their AI strategies, priorities, and constraints, and ensure alignment with Group direction.
- Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to drive shared outcomes and reduce duplication.
- Assess new AI products as they are released, identifying complementary tools that strengthen the overall AI ecosystem.
- Evaluate productivity tools proposed from other parts of the bank, providing structured recommendations on fit, overlap, integration considerations, and strategic alignment.
- Define and monitor relevant KPIs to support transparency and accountability (e.g., adoption, value delivered, overlap reduction, time-to-decision).
- Own and maintain documentation covering market insights, assessments, recommendations, and decisions to support consistent governance.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience in strategic product, programme, or portfolio roles, ideally involving emerging technology and enterprise tooling decisions.
- Strong understanding of finance product lifecycle and governance, with the ability to translate market signals into actionable roadmaps.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, including how capabilities and vendor offerings evolve.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills to synthesise market intelligence, competitor insights, and stakeholder needs into a strategic tooling direction.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in ambiguity while maintaining pace and rigour.
