Senior Software Engineer
Cheltenham or London (Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite)
Up to £80,000 + excellent benefits
We're working with a specialist secure technology consultancy supporting some of the UK's most security-conscious organisations. They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys solving meaningful problems, working with modern technology, and building software that genuinely matters.
This role offers exposure across the full software lifecycle, from idea to live service, in an environment that values clear thinking, adaptability, and collaboration over rigid process.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and building secure, reliable software systems
- Working across frontend and backend technologies, depending on the problem
- Using AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and productivity
- Collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders
- Owning services from development through live operation
- Continuously improving how software is delivered
What we're looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and/or backend languages such as Python or Java
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Containerisation and modern CI/CD exposure
- Security-conscious mindset
- Clear communicator, comfortable in hybrid or remote teams
- Eligible for UK security clearance (British passport required)
