Job Overview

As General Counsel, you will oversee all legal and compliance matters at InfoSum, ensuring the company operates within applicable laws and regulations while supporting business objectives. You will provide strategic legal guidance to senior leadership, manage risk, and support continued growth through sound legal and regulatory practices. This role requires a balance of legal expertise, business acumen, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, evolving technology landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal counsel to senior leadership and key stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, employment law, and intellectual property.
  • Oversee all commercial contract negotiations, ensuring terms align with business goals and mitigate risk.
  • Ensure InfoSum remains compliant with applicable data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with the Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to assess and address legal risks associated with new products, features, and partnerships.
  • Lead and manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain InfoSum's risk management framework, identifying potential legal risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Manage external counsel relationships and control legal spend efficiently.
  • Develop and implement company-wide policies and training on legal and compliance matters, including contract management, privacy, and ethical business practices.
  • Stay up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to proactively guide the company in maintaining compliance and competitive positioning.
  • Support employment law matters, including hiring policies, disputes, and internal investigations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key business agreements, including customer contracts, partnership agreements, and supplier arrangements.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required by the business.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor with 10+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally in the technology, SaaS, or data privacy space.
  • Expertise in commercial contract negotiation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) and experience advising on privacy-related legal matters.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to balance legal considerations with commercial priorities and business strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal colleagues clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive legal best practices across the company.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and contract management systems.
