CNI Monitoring SME (SC cleared/Eligible)

  • Providing deep technical expertise on monitoring solutions, such as BMC/BHOM/TSOM.
  • Manage monitoring IT infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and performance of services.
  • Key responsibilities include configuring and managing BMC monitoring tools, analysing alerts and events, implementing monitoring blueprints, and supporting incident and problem management processes within the monitoring ecosystem.
  • As we upgrade our existing Monitoring capability and look to extend this to onboard new Strategic services.
  • Part of a working team managing own technical deliverables, change management; engaging with Application and Infrastructure teams to
  • Experience of BMC/BHOM/TSOM Monitoring tools would be an advantage, but not essential

The Role

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of expertise for monitoring solutions.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain BMC monitoring tools and their related integrations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot alerts and events generated by BMC systems to resolve issues quickly.
  • Service Model Development: Create and manage service models within to understand dependencies and the health of IT services.
  • Incident & Problem Support: Work with IT operations teams to resolve incidents and problems related to monitored systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance monitoring capabilities and improve IT operational efficiency.
  • Preparing for and completing all required audits.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience: (Up to 10, Avoid repetition)

  • Experience of BMC/BHOM/TSOM Monitoring tools would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Part of a working team managing own technical deliverables, change management; engaging with Application and Infrastructure teams to

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: (As applicable)

  • Understanding of monitoring tools, OS, IDS Network Security Concepts:
  • A strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and common attack vectors.
  • Experience with operating systems, network troubleshooting, and Scripting or programming languages.
