Role: Telesys STP Engineer (Signal Transfer Point)
\n
Experience: 8+
\n
Role Overview:- The Telesys STP Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and integration, of Telesys Signal Transfer Point (STP) platforms in telecom core network environments, with a strong focus on SS7 signalling, routing optimization, and high availability.
\n
Key Responsibilities
\n
* Hands on experience in installing, configuring, and commissioning Telesys STP nodes
\n
* Configure point codes, linksets, routes, and Global Title Translation (GTT)
\n
* Configure and manage SS7 signalling links including A links, B links, and C links
\n
* Prepare MOPs and implementation artifacts for software upgrades and changes
\n
* Integrate STP with core network elements such as MSC, HLR, SMSC, IN, and signalling gateways
\n
* Support Legacy SS7 and interworking scenarios based on customer requirements
\n
* Strong working knowledge of the SS7 protocol stack:
\n
MTP Level 1/2/3
\n
SCCP (connectionless & connection oriented)
\n
TCAP (basic operations)
\n
* Handle E.164, E.212, and E.214 numbering plans
\n
* Implement routing logic based on IMSI, MSISDN, and GT patterns
\n
* Analyze and troubleshoot signalling failures using traces and logs
\n
* Perform protocol level debugging including SCCP and TCAP decoding
\n
* Use tools such as Wireshark/tcpdump for signalling analysis
\n
* Optimize routing tables and signalling load distribution
\n
* Perform health checks, capacity planning, and performance analysis
\n
* Ensure high availability and optimal utilization of STP resources
\n
* Understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G signalling architectures, particularly:
\n
* MAP signalling
\n
* MAP Diameter interworking concepts
\n
* Familiarity with Diameter signalling in legacy to LTE/5G evolution scenarios
\n
* Experience with bare metal, virtualized, and cloud platforms such as KVM, VMware, Kubernetes based CNF
\n
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
