Workday Finance Enterprise Architect

The Role:
The Workday Finance Architect will lead the end to end solution design, configuration oversight, and strategic roadmap for Workday Financials. This role requires deep expertise across core financial processes and Workday modules, with hands on experience driving large scale finance transformation programs, process re engineering, and technology modernization. The architect will collaborate with business leaders, finance SMEs, and technology teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and future ready enterprise finance solutions.

Your responsibilities:-

Solution Architecture & Design:
Lead the overall solution architecture for Workday Financials, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and global finance operating models.
Own the design and configuration governance for modules such as:
o Workday Financial Accounting
o Customer & Supplier Accounts
o Banking & Settlement
o Projects & Grants
o Expenses
o Procurement
o Business Assets
o Financial Reporting & Prism Analytics
Translate business requirements into scalable and optimized Workday solutions.
Define data models, integrations, security frameworks, and reporting structures.

Implementation & Delivery Leadership:
Provide architectural leadership for Workday implementation or phase -wise deployments.
Lead fit gap analysis, solution validation workshops, and design walkthroughs.
Guide configuration teams and ensure adherence to best practices and Workday capabilities.
Oversee integrations with upstream/downstream systems (ERP, procurement, treasury, CRM, billing, data platforms).

Finance Transformation:

Drive end to end Finance Transformation initiatives including:
o Process standardization across Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), FP&A, and Asset Accounting.
o Operating model redesign, including global process ownership and shared services enablement.
o Data transformation, chart of accounts redesign, and enterprise data governance.
o Implementing future state digital workflows to replace Legacy/manual processes.
Partner with Finance leadership (CFO, Controllers, FP&A, Treasury) to enable automation, compliance, and enhanced financial insight.

Governance & Quality:
Establish Workday design principles, configuration standards, and architectural guardrails.
Run design authority forums and review all solution changes for compliance.
Ensure all solutions meet audit, financial controls, and regulatory requirements (SOX, IFRS/GAAP).

Stakeholder & Business Engagement:
Act as the primary Workday Finance SME for cross functional stakeholders.
Provide thought leadership on Workday roadmap, new features, and quarterly releases.
Conduct training, knowledge transfer, and user enablement sessions.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Workday Expertise: Finance Transformation Background:
Proven track record of driving finance digital transformation programs for global organizations.

Experience with:
o Global process harmonization
o Operating model redesign
o Chart of Accounts transformation
o Shared services/GBS implementation
o Data migration strategy & execution
o Finance analytics modernization (Prism, Adaptive Insights is a plus)

Functional & Financial Acumen:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS/GAAP, governance, and financial controls.
Experience collaborating with Controllers, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, AP/AR, and Procurement teams.

Soft Skills:
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and architectural thinking abilities.
Ability to lead multi vendor and cross functional teams.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
Workday Financials Certification (one or more).
Experience in BFSI, Retail, Technology, or Multinational environments (adjust as needed).
Experience with Agile or Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
