Azure Project Engineer - Hands-on Azure Delivery - Excellent Career Progression
Are you a hands-on Azure Engineer who enjoys delivering projects, implementing solutions and working directly with customers, rather than spending your days dealing with support tickets?
Would you like to join an established IT Solutions Provider where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of Azure project delivery, work alongside highly experienced Azure Architects and potentially progress into an Azure Project Lead position?
We're working with a growing MSP looking for an ambitious, technically capable Azure Project Engineer to join its established engineering team.
This is a predominantly project-focused position, delivering Azure infrastructure, networking and cloud migration solutions across a varied customer base.
The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering Azure projects from initial planning through to implementation and documentation, working directly with customers to ensure successful delivery.
Projects typically last between 3-5 days, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of multiple deployments and gain exposure to different technologies and customer environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, configuring and deploying Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions.
- Configuring and implementing Azure networking.
- Deploying and configuring Windows Servers and virtual machines within Azure.
- Delivering Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Azure Backup solutions.
- Supporting and delivering on-premises to Azure cloud migrations.
- Implementing improvements and migrations across existing cloud environments.
- Managing project delivery from planning through to implementation and documentation.
- Working directly with customers throughout the project life cycle.
- Collaborating with senior Azure Architects on technical solutions and more complex projects.
Technical Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on Azure engineering experience who is confident deploying and configuring solutions, rather than purely supporting existing environments.
Essential:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience deploying and configuring Servers/virtual machines in Azure.
- Experience configuring and implementing Azure networking.
- Practical experience delivering Azure infrastructure changes, deployments or projects.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot technical challenges and take ownership of delivery.
MSP experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates from internal IT environments will absolutely be considered, provided they're enthusiastic about moving into a customer-facing project delivery role.
You don't need to know everything. The business is happy to support training and development for someone with the right core Azure experience, attitude and ambition.
The Opportunity & Career Progression
You'll be joining an established engineering team, supported by highly experienced Azure Architects.
The business already has strong Azure architecture expertise and is now looking to strengthen its hands-on Azure project delivery capability.
This creates an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to:
- Become the go-to engineer for Azure project implementations.
- Take genuine ownership of Azure delivery.
- Work closely with and learn from senior Azure Architects.
- Develop skills across new technologies and increasingly complex projects.
- Play a key role in building the company's Azure engineering capability.
- Potentially progress into an Azure Project Lead position.
You'll be working with a supportive Engineering Manager who values collaboration, technical development and realistic project delivery expectations.
Working Arrangements
The role offers a flexible mix of customer-site project delivery, office collaboration and home working.
- Predominantly delivering projects at customer sites.
- Maidenhead office attendance based on project commitments and team requirements.
- Fridays generally working from home for administration, training and project preparation.
- Business travel expenses covered for customer visits.
- Ideally suited to candidates living in the South East/Bekshire.
About You
Alongside your technical capabilities, we're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies.
- Ambitious and keen to progress their career.
- Proactive, enthusiastic and comfortable taking ownership.
- Confident working directly with customers.
- Happy working independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Motivated by learning, developing and delivering successful projects.
