Project Accountant - Net Suite Implementation

We are recruiting an experienced Project Accountant to play a key role in a major finance transformation programme for a successful and growing multi-site hospitality group operating bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK.

The business is currently implementing Oracle NetSuite, with go-live scheduled for April 2027. The programme is already underway, with initial work progressing across the Chart of Accounts, financial reporting structure and subsidiary set-up.

They are now looking to appoint a hands-on Project Accountant who can take ownership of the finance workstream, working closely with senior finance leadership, operational stakeholders and the external implementation partner to ensure a successful delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous NetSuite implementation experience who wants to take a leading role in a high-profile, business-wide transformation programme.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will lead the finance elements of the Oracle NetSuite implementation, helping ensure the new system is designed and configured to support the requirements of a complex, high-volume, multi-site business.

You will act as a key link between Finance, Operations, IT and the implementation partner, helping to shape future finance processes, oversee financial data migration and testing, and prepare the wider finance team for go-live.

The role will cover the full implementation lifecycle through to go-live and post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the finance workstream for the Oracle NetSuite implementation.
  • Act as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, IT and the external implementation partner.
  • Review and refine the Chart of Accounts, cost centre structure and financial reporting configuration.
  • Ensure NetSuite is configured to meet the reporting and operational requirements of a complex multi-site business.
  • Support the design and implementation of streamlined finance processes and robust internal controls.
  • Oversee the cleansing, validation and migration of financial master data.
  • Coordinate and execute finance testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend finance best practice.
  • Support the implementation and configuration of key finance areas, including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Fixed Assets
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Intercompany Accounting
  • Multi-Entity Reporting
  • Develop finance process documentation and user guides.
  • Support the training of finance users ahead of implementation.
  • Help drive change management and user adoption across the finance function.
  • Troubleshoot implementation issues and work with project stakeholders to keep delivery milestones on track.
  • Provide post-go-live support and help ensure a smooth transition into business-as-usual.

About You

We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong finance systems experience and, importantly, previous hands-on involvement in an Oracle NetSuite implementation.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Previous hands-on experience implementing Oracle NetSuite.
  • Strong knowledge of core finance processes, accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Experience designing or restructuring Charts of Accounts and financial reporting structures.
  • Experience of finance systems testing, UAT, data migration and process redesign.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The confidence to work with and influence stakeholders across both Finance and Operations.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

If you have strong finance credentials combined with hands-on NetSuite implementation experience and are looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical transformation programme, we would be keen to hear from you.
