Extensive experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
1. Core Guidewire Knowledge (PolicyCenter)
- Strong understanding of PolicyCenter data model and business processes.
- Hands-on experience with Gosu programming (inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling).
- Deep knowledge of APD, Product Model, Job Lifecycle, and Policy Transactions (new business, renewal, endorsement, cancellation) and PMT tool
- Expertise in Configuring PolicyCenter (typelists, entities, PCFs, workflows, rules engine).
2. Guidewire Integration Expertise
- Experience with Guidewire Integration mechanisms (Messaging, Web Services, Plugins, Batch Processes).
- Working knowledge of GX Model & Edge APIs,.
- Hands-on experience integrating with external systems using REST.
- Understanding of event-driven processing (messaging triggers).
3. Database Knowledge
- Experience working with Guidewire Data Model and database schema.
- Support the creation a data feed from Guidewire PolicyCenter V10/V9 and Cloud (nice to have)
4. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Ability to profile and debug PolicyCenter performance issues.
- Understanding of caching strategies, efficient querying, and memory management.
5. Guidewire Best Practices
- Knowledge of Guidewire coding standards & best practices for customization and maintainability.
- Knowledge of SonarQube, Jacoca
6. Business Knowledge & Communication
- Understanding of insurance domain concepts (policy life cycle, underwriting, renewals).
- Ability to understand requirements, collaborate with business analysts, and provide technical solutions.
- Ability to work with PO, BA and other squad team to clarify requirements and resolve dependencies
7. Testing
- Understanding of testing automation like GUnits and other as well
8. Release management
- Understanding of Code build-deploy, environments (time travel, NFT), support release deployment and knows Sequence of events involved from Guidewire perspective
9. Thought leadership
- Participate in solution discussion with Cognizant Guidewire CoE in proposal technical responses
- Contributes towards continuous improvements and Guidewire new features
- Knowledge and experience of handling Implementation, Upgrade, Migration projects
- Worked on Guidewire Cloud platform (nice to have)
10. Development Lead
- Review design document created by developers and signoff on design solution
- Reviews User story estimations done by developers
- Drives technical solution sessions for Sprint User stories from Configuration and Integration perspective
- Analyses technical dependencies between various squads, captures and help resolve the technical issues
- Provides inputs to PO to plan future sprint user stories
- Guides developers in leveraging Out of box Guidewire functionality and any decisions on custom solutions
- Peer review of developed code and provides approval on Pull request raised by developers
- Works with Technical leaders to set technical guidelines and processes for the project
- Participate and provide technical inputs/guidance in defect triage meetings
