Role
Architecture & design
- Define and own technical architecture across multiple concurrent projects and teams within the Automation Unit, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Produce architecture artefacts - including HLDs, LLDs, integration designs, and data models - to a standard suitable for Technical Design Authority (TDA) review and governance approval
- Establish and govern reusable architecture patterns for Power Platform development, ensuring consistency and quality across delivery teams
- Make and document key design decisions, assessing trade-offs between build, configure, and buy options; presenting options clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Power Platform architecture & delivery
- Architect and guide development across the full Microsoft Power Platform stack: Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate (cloud flows and desktop), Power BI, Power Pages, and Dataverse
- Define data modelling, security role design, environment strategy, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) patterns for Power Platform across the unit
- Ensure Power Platform solutions are designed for enterprise scale - including appropriate use of connectors, delegation, licensing boundaries, and performance patterns
- Guide teams on integration between Power Platform and wider enterprise systems, including Azure services, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and third-party APIs
End-to-end delivery oversight
- Lead technical delivery from initial ideation through design, build, test, and deployment - including proof-of-concept (POC) and proof-of-value (POV) engagements with business stakeholders
- Rapidly prototype and validate new automation concepts and technologies to demonstrate value to the customer, managing the balance between speed of demonstration and architectural integrity
- Oversee technical quality across delivery teams, conducting design reviews and providing structured feedback to ensure architecture intent is reflected in implementation
- Identify and manage technical, integration, and delivery risks across the programme, escalating where appropriate and proposing mitigations proactively
