Business Analyst (IT / Systems Transformation) – Contract (Outside IR35)
8 Month Contract - Liverpool (2 days onsite)
£450 per day
We are supporting a UK-based organisation within the financial/payments sector as they continue to modernise their internal systems.
They are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong IT and systems focus to support a key transformation programme, replacing a legacy platform and improving how critical financial processes are managed.
The Role
This is a hands-on Business Analyst role working across the full delivery lifecycle from final stages of discovery through to delivery, testing, and migration.
You will be working closely with technical teams, supporting the build and ensuring that system changes align with defined business and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the final stages of discovery and requirements refinement
- Working closely with developers to support delivery and implementation
- Translating requirements into clear, structured outputs for engineering teams
- Mapping and improving processes and workflows
- Supporting test planning, validation, and release activities
- Ensuring successful migration from a legacy system to a new platform
This role has a strong systems and data element, including:
- Supporting API integrations and system connectivity
- Ensuring data accuracy, structure, and flow across systems
- Working with developers to ensure all required outputs are delivered in line with business and regulatory needs
- Operating within a structured delivery environment, combining larger waterfall releases with smaller iterative updates
Change & Adoption
Alongside the technical delivery, there is a key requirement to support the business through change.
You will:
- Work with internal teams to adopt new processes and systems
- Help move teams away from manual and spreadsheet led workflows
- Support stakeholders through transition and ensure new ways of working are embedded
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within IT transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of systems, data, and technical delivery
- Experience working closely with developers across build and release phases
- Confident engaging with stakeholders across business and technical teams
- Able to balance structured delivery with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
