Senior Quality Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, or Quality Systems Specialist to take full ownership of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) within a growing electronics design and manufacturing business.

Working cross-functionally across R&D, Production, and Purchasing, you will drive process improvements, manage non-conformances, and maintain top-tier compliance for high-spec engineering clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain, develop, and continuously improve the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Internal Auditing: Conduct regular internal audits across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations; support external compliance audits.
  • Engineering Change Control: Manage Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs / ECRs) and oversee controlled technical documentation.
  • Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Lead non-conformance investigations (NCR), customer returns (RMA), and implementation of CAPA using structured techniques (8D, 5-Why).
  • Cross-Functional Quality Support: Collaborate directly with R&D, Electronics Production, and Purchasing to maintain high product reliability and client standards.
  • ERP & Calibration: Utilise ERP/MRP systems for quality tracking and maintain equipment calibration schedules.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience working within an ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System.
  • Strong background in Quality Assurance (QA), root cause analysis, CAPA, and non-conformance management.
  • Excellent documentation, administrative, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication skills with experience working alongside Production and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Background in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly
  • Certified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Experience with PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, or IPC standards
