Aspect CTRM Business Analyst - Commodities Trading

InnovaLab is hiring an experienced Aspect CTRM Business Analyst to support one of our commodities clients.

The client already uses Aspect CTRM/ION Aspect, and the role will focus on requirements capture, process analysis, functional specification, testing support, stakeholder engagement and delivery of enhancements across the platform and related systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with trading, operations, risk, finance and technology stakeholders to support change across the front-to-back commodity trading life cycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements across trading, operations, risk, finance and technology.
  • Review current-state business processes and define future-state improvements.
  • Produce functional specifications, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
  • Support delivery of enhancements, configuration changes and process improvements within Aspect CTRM.
  • Work with developers, support teams and vendors to clarify requirements and resolve delivery issues.
  • Support UAT, defect triage, release planning and post-go-live validation.
  • Investigate production issues and help define business and technical remediation steps.
  • Support integration requirements between Aspect and related platforms, including reporting, finance, market data, data platforms and downstream operational systems.
  • Validate end-to-end trade life cycle flows, including trade capture, pricing, exposure, P&L, confirmations, settlements, invoicing and reporting.
  • Act as the interface between business users and technical delivery teams.

Required experience

  • Proven Business Analyst experience in commodities trading, energy trading, metals, financial markets or another trading environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Aspect CTRM/ION Aspect.
  • Strong understanding of physical and/or financial commodity trading processes.
  • Experience working with front, middle and Back Office teams.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly understand complex trading processes.
  • Strong documentation skills across requirements, functional specifications, process flows and test scenarios.
  • Experience supporting UAT, defect management, releases and production issue resolution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable experience

  • Metals, mining or broader commodities experience.
  • Knowledge of pricing, exposure, P&L, risk, confirmations, settlements, invoicing or accounting.
  • Experience with reporting, data, market data, finance or CRM integrations.
  • SQL or data analysis capability.
  • Jira, Azure DevOps or similar delivery tooling.
  • Experience working on CTRM upgrades, migrations, integrations or operational improvement programmes.
