Contract Business Analyst - Business Applications
My client is currently recruiting for a Contract Business Analyst experienced across Business Application landscapes.
This role will focus on analyzing, documenting, and visualizing my client's current application landscape, including how applications are integrated and how they support business processes.
The aim is to improve transparency across systems, identify potential overlaps or inefficiencies, and lay the groundwork for future modernization and automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify all applications used across departments.
- Develop a high-level "as-is" application landscape, detailing:
- Application names and core functionalities
- Supported business capabilities and processes
- System ownership and user groups
- Technical platforms and hosting environments
- Map and document integration points between systems, including APIs, ETL processes, and manual data flows.
- Produce clear and informative visual documentation, such as:
- Application landscape diagrams
- Integration and interface maps
- Interface catalogues
- High-level data flow diagrams
- Analyze system interdependencies to identify overlaps, redundancies, and potential risks.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a sustainable framework for maintaining and updating the application inventory.

- Fully documented and categorized application inventory

- Gap analysis report highlighting redundancies and improvement opportunities

Professional Qualifications & Skills
- Experienced in roles such as Systems Business Analyst, Application Analyst, or within IT or Enterprise Architecture functions
- Strong understanding of enterprise application ecosystems, system interdependencies, and integration principles
- Practical experience in application mapping, process documentation, and interface specification
- Proficient in business process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN), system architecture diagramming, and data flow mapping
- Skilled in using visualization and documentation tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or equivalent platforms
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholder
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, with a proactive and structured approach to work
