About the Role
The Account Director - Strategic & Growth partners with strategic and high-potential clients to build deep business relationships, drive growth, and influence long-term digital transformation. This role focuses on early client engagement, representing the organisation’s core capabilities, and securing large-scale transformation or managed service contracts. The Account Director works cross-functionally with internal teams to generate demand, shape client strategy, and elevate the maturity of client engagements.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix organisation to generate demand, influence client technology strategies, and deliver solutions aligned to desired business outcomes.
- Create and own annual business plans for a portfolio of high-profile accounts, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and clear pathways to overachieving goals.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to ensure accurate forecasting and consistent overachievement of revenue and margin objectives.
- Act as a thought leader by challenging client assumptions, leveraging industry insights, and shaping strategic conversations to secure long-term IT service engagements.
- Develop multi-year client account plans that define mutual goals, strategic alignment, and transformation roadmaps with clear accountability for outcomes.
- Own the creation and delivery of proposals, pricing models, and commercial terms to land high-impact propositions.
- Collaborate across commercial, legal, and delivery functions to negotiate and secure optimal outcomes for both the client and the organisation.
- Conduct regular business and service reviews to strengthen executive relationships, drive client intimacy, and ensure world-class delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Manage account profitability (for contracted clients), applying strong financial governance to maximise profit and growth across the contract lifecycle.
- Maintain close alignment with internal leadership on key opportunities, risks, and developments impacting client accounts.
- Act as the client’s strongest advocate, ensuring alignment to client needs, influencing internal priorities, and securing long-term value-based relationships.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience managing small to medium enterprise accounts in a consultative sales or strategic account leadership role.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lead and embed multi-disciplinary account teams across complex client environments.
- Strong track record in business development across Cloud, Data, Applications, and AI solutions.
- Experience or strong understanding of delivery management and end-to-end solution execution.
- Disciplined approach to account planning with proven execution and measurable results.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and trusted relationships with technology and business executives.
- Expert-level capability in translating business outcomes into technology-enabled solutions.
- Experience working within an ecosystem of internal capabilities, technology partners, and service providers.
