Job Description - Graduate Consultant
About Insight Consulting:
Insight Consulting is a team of consultants with immense experience, enabling us to understand customers’ business problems and deliver real business outcomes to resolve them. Our clients include a range of start-ups, SMEs and large multi-national enterprises within both the public and private sector. We help these clients navigate and resolve the challenges they face and increase future readiness and resilience.
We specialise in:
Advisory & design, programme delivery, technical delivery, digital Project Management Office (PMO) and AI solutions.
Our Values:
Insight Consulting knows that our greatest strengths come from our people. Inclusion and diversity are ingrained in who we are. We foster a culture that is unconditionally inclusive and enjoy the differing perspectives, ideas, and experience this brings to our company.
Our locations:
Insight is a global company with offices around the world. Our core UK offices include Uxbridge, Sheffield and Manchester. This role is hybrid with travel to client or Insight offices required for collaboration 3 days per week.
Our development programme:
The 2026 cohort will begin a 12-month programme to build the skills, mindset, and real-world experience needed for a long-term career at Insight Consulting.
Learning begins with the Insight AI Flight Academy, an internal training tool, to help you, regardless of your current AI proficiency, learn the tools and skills to thrive in an AI-driven future. Simultaneously, on the job learning will allow shadowing in key business areas such as business operations, information security and sales. To accelerate upskilling, our technical experts delve into Insight Consulting service offerings and share industry knowledge, with the opportunity for a Q&A.
Following completion of learning, candidates will be allocated to a client project based on their preferences and skills, alongside an experienced team member, to begin their journey as a Junior Consultant.
Future roles at Insight Consulting may include, but are not limited to, consultant, data engineer, cloud architect, software developer, AI engineer, PMO analyst, project lead, security analyst and business analyst.
The Jedi Graduate Programme offers two distinct tracks. Candidates apply to their preferred track at the point of application. Both tracks share a common foundation in technology awareness and consulting fundamentals — the difference is in depth and focus.
Technical Track
For graduates who want to build deep expertise in technology, data, AI, and IT delivery. You will work on implementation, architecture, and digital transformation projects — building hands-on technical skills while developing the consulting layer on top.
Managerial Track
For graduates who want to focus on strategy, client management, and organisational change. You will work on business cases, operating models, stakeholder engagement, and programme governance — building consulting and leadership skills underpinned by strong technology awareness.
Core Skills that will be developed within this role:
- AI and automation proficiency — learn the tools and skills to thrive in an AI-driven future
- Client communication — writing clear slides and documents, running meetings, and managing stakeholder expectations
- Commercial awareness — understanding how businesses create value and grasping what clients actually care about
- Presentation and storytelling — turning analysis into a narrative that drives decisions, not just reports that inform
- Opportunity spotting — recognising when a client conversation hints at a broader need
- Structured problem-solving in programme delivery — breaking ambiguous problems into logical components, hypothesis-led thinking, and root-cause analysis to deliver value to our clients
- Relationship building — networking authentically, following up, and staying visible with clients between engagements
- Data and analytics fundamentals — SQL fundamentals, reading dashboards, and understanding data pipelines and quality issues
- Cyber and security risk management — confidence in effectively managing risk within programmes and projects
- Systems thinking — understanding how enterprise technology, such as Jira, Confluence, ERP, CRM, ServiceNow and cloud platforms, connects and what implementation looks like
