The Bank of England, in partnership with Inspire People, is seeking a Lead Solution Architect with strong regulatory data-collection expertise, Azure cloud capability and experience delivering complex data-centric platforms to help deliver BEEDS 2.0 (Bank of England Electronic Data Submission portal). Based in Leeds on a 21-month FTC with a salary of £72,320 - £81,360 plus an 8% cash benefits allowance, discretionary annual bonus and a non-contributory pension.Shape the Future of Technology at the UK's Central Bank The Bank of England plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's monetary and financial stability. BEEDS (the Bank of England Electronic Data Submission portal) is the secure online system that manages regulatory data submissions from banks, insurers and financial firms. As a Lead Solution Architect (BEEDS), you will help deliver BEEDS 2.0 - a modernised collection platform supporting secure, compliant and large-scale data submissions across PRA-regulated sectors.As a Lead Solution Architect (BEEDS) you will:* Define and shape the architecture for BEEDS 2.0 from discovery through to delivery.* Lead architectural governance and contribute to Bank-wide design forums.* Support procurement activity, evaluate vendors and lead technical solution selection.* Design secure ingestion, validation and processing workflows for structured and semi-structured data (XBRL, XML, JSON, Excel).* Ensure end-to-end regulatory compliance, audit controls and strong data governance.* Oversee integration with Azure ADLS, identity services, pipelines and enterprise platforms.* Work collaboratively with Data Architects, Business Analysts, PRA stakeholders and supplier teams.Essential skills for the Lead Solution Architect (BEEDS) include:* Experience delivering large-scale regulatory or data-collection systems as a Solution or Lead Architect.* Strong domain knowledge of regulatory submissions, firm-facing portals and APIs.* Expertise designing scalable, secure architectures for structured regulatory data (XBRL, XML, APIs).* Strong understanding of Azure cloud (ADLS, identity, integration patterns, secure access).* Proven experience supporting procurement, vendor evaluation and supplier assurance.* Knowledge of submission, validation, audit and resubmission workflow controls.Desirable skills for the Lead Solution Architect (BEEDS) include:* Experience in financial services, insurance or government regulatory programmes.* Hands-on experience with XBRL validation, SDMX or taxonomy-driven data models.* Experience integrating SaaS regulatory platforms with enterprise architectures.* Knowledge of SQL, large-scale data platforms and metadata-driven collections.* Experience designing hybrid architectures across on-prem and cloud environments.In return, you can expect a flexible working culture and benefits, including:* Hybrid working with 40-50% office attendance monthly.* Flexible start and finish times plus adaptable working patterns.* Working-from-abroad policy (subject to approval).* Inclusive culture that values diversity, wellbeing and development.* 8% benefits allowance.* 26 days' annual leave plus option to buy up to 12 additional days.* Non-contributory career-average pension.* Private medical insurance and income protection.* Discretionary annual performance award.Why Join?
