We're working with an established organisation within the built environment sector that is investing significantly in its Learning & Development offering. They are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to help shape the future of learning across the business, creating engaging, effective and innovative learning experiences for a diverse workforce.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining creativity, technology and learning theory to build impactful solutions. You'll have the opportunity to influence learning strategy, modernise existing training content and work closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful development programmes.

As Instructional Designer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing high-quality learning solutions across a range of formats, including digital learning, blended programmes and supporting resources.

You'll work collaboratively with subject matter experts and internal teams to understand business needs, translate complex information into engaging learning experiences, and ensure learning content is accessible, effective and aligned with organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging digital and blended learning solutions using recognised instructional design principles.
  • Transform existing classroom-based training into modern, scalable digital learning experiences.
  • Create storyboards, scripts, learning resources and supporting materials.
  • Develop e-learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise or similar platforms.
  • Work with subject matter experts to capture knowledge and convert technical information into effective learning content.
  • Support the creation of video and multimedia-based learning resources.
  • Manage learning projects from initial discovery and design through to development, testing and implementation.
  • Maintain and support digital learning content within the organisation's LMS.
  • Ensure learning assets meet technical standards including SCORM and xAPI requirements.
  • Use learner feedback and performance insights to continuously improve learning solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new learning technologies and approaches.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end instructional design projects.
  • Experience creating both digital and face-to-face learning solutions.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with e-learning authoring tools, ideally Articulate Storyline and/or Rise.
  • Experience working with LMS platforms and digital learning standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage subject matter experts and internal stakeholders.
