Job Title: Cognos Reporting Developer
Location: Cardiff - hybrid 2-3 days onsite p/week ideally
Contract Type: Permanent

£30-35k + benefits
 

Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Cognos Reporting Developer to join our client’s team. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics. The role is hands-on, working closely with business users to turn requirements into clear, accurate, and insightful reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Query Studio, etc.)

• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions

• Optimise report performance and troubleshoot issues

• Build reusable templates and standard reports for different business areas

• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting outputs

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with IBM Cognos (Report Studio, Query Studio, Cognos Analytics)

• Background in BI / reporting development, not just end-user reporting

• Good SQL skills and understanding of relational databases

• Experience building dashboards, prompts, and drill-down functionality

• Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience with data modelling or ETL tools

• Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
