IntaPeople have partnered exlusively with a growing financial services organisation in Cardiff is looking for an IT Technical & Operations Manager to take ownership of the company’s technology environment and support the continued growth of the business.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role within a small, highly regulated organisation. You’ll work closely with the Head of IT, overseeing day-to-day technology operations while coordinating with managed service providers and technology vendors who deliver elements of the infrastructure and security platforms.

The focus of the role is ensuring the company’s systems remain secure, stable and compliant, while enabling colleagues across the business to work efficiently using modern workplace tools.

A key part of the role will be managing and improving the organisation’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and Azure Active Directory. You’ll oversee identity governance controls such as MFA and conditional access, while ensuring configuration standards support security, compliance and operational efficiency.

You’ll also coordinate with external partners responsible for infrastructure, security and cloud services, ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed service levels and that systems remain aligned with internal security policies and regulatory expectations.

Alongside supplier management, you’ll oversee core systems and user access management, support incident response activities and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery readiness. The role will also involve supporting internal audits, regulatory reviews and technology governance processes, ensuring documentation and operational controls are maintained to the standards expected within a regulated financial services environment.

This position suits someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment within a smaller organisation, where strong communication, ownership and problem-solving are essential.

Key experience required:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory

  • Background in IT infrastructure, systems administration or technical operations

  • Good understanding of cyber security principles and security tooling

  • Experience working with managed service providers or third-party technology vendors

  • Exposure to regulated or security-focused environments

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
