Infrastructure Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Lead with hands on capabilites in Azure Cloud, VMware, RedHat Linux who can guide teams, shape technical direction, and deliver robust IT solutions from design through to implementation. You’ll coordinate technical staff, tackle complex issues, embed best practices, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, securely, and to a high standard. Our client is offering basic salary £60,000 + 15% bonus + 28 days holiday + 8% pension + private healthcare for a 12 month FTC to be based in West Midlands, on a hybrid basis.

Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, you’ll bring strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the technical delivery and quality assurance of assigned projects.
  • Lead the design and deployment of scalable, maintainable technology solutions.
  • Analyse business and project needs to identify and implement the right technical approach.
  • Build effective digital and technical processes that underpin successful outcomes.
  • Embed Information Security best practice and develop robust risk-mitigation processes.
  • Drive the adoption of automation technologies.
  • Lead on technical upskilling and knowledge transfer across the IT team.
  • Support project managers with high-quality technical documentation, reporting and procedures.

Key skills:

  • Strong experience coordinating and delivering IT solutions across full project lifecycles.
  • Technical and process design expertise with responsibility for setting technical direction.
  • Demonstrable experience embedding security across solution deployments.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Azure Cloud, VMware and ideally RedHat Linux.
  • Understanding of networks, Azure DevOps, MS SQL Server, Oracle and cloud migration.
  • Proven automation experience (PowerShell, Linux shell scripting, Ansible).
  • A strong ability to solve complex technical issues rapidly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work with external partners and vendors confidently.
