Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global financial services organisation. This role will see you leading complex, multi-workstream programmes aligned to strategic transformation goals. With a strong focus on technology-driven change including automation and AI you’ll be responsible for delivering outcomes that drive innovation and operational efficiency. You’ll operate at a senior level, working closely with stakeholders while remaining hands-on in programme execution.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex programmes across a Change Portfolio, often from inception
  • Translate strategic objectives into structured, actionable delivery plans
  • Oversee risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits realisation across programmes
  • Drive delivery through matrix-managed teams and provide direction to Project Managers
  • Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting, and assurance frameworks
  • Manage programme budgets and third-party suppliers (budget ownership dependent on programme scope)
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, confidently holding your own at executive level
  • Lead technology transformation initiatives, including automation and AI implementation
  • Champion modern delivery approaches, including Agile and Value Stream methodologies
  • Optimise resource allocation to ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Provide clear and consistent communication on programme progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with wider Business Change teams to ensure alignment and best practice

Skills & Experience

  • Proven Programme Management experience within Financial Services (regulated environment essential)
  • Strong hands-on delivery background, with experience building and delivering programmes from scratch
  • Demonstrated success leading technology transformation programmes (e.g. automation, AI, digital change)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels
  • Strong programme governance, planning, and risk management expertise
  • Knowledge of recognised methodologies (MSP, APM/PMQ, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Highly organised, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical thinking
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and guide teams

Qualifications

  • PRINCE2 / APM accreditation (beneficial but not essential)
