Senior Business Analyst – Tier 1 Investment Bank

Location: Central London (Hybrid, 2 days per week in office)

Contract: 6-month initial contract

Day Rate: c£650 p/day inside IR35

Overview

A Tier 1 Investment Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst. The role will play a key part in defining and implementing business and information system solutions across multiple business areas, with a particular focus on back-office and regulatory projects, as well as the onboarding of new products and services.

This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of financial products, trade lifecycles, and system integration within a banking environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Support the assessment, prioritisation, and delivery of development requests across multiple business functions.
• Collaborate with IT leads and business stakeholders to define, document, and maintain business requirements.
• Develop and maintain delivery roadmaps, ensuring visibility and transparency of progress.
• Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders, including project status updates and issue resolution.
• Ensure requirements are translated effectively into technical specifications for development and testing teams.
• Conduct data analysis and mapping across multiple systems to identify gaps and dependencies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience across full project lifecycles (requirements gathering, testing, implementation).
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, structured business requirements.
• Understanding of trading book asset classes (FX products, Loans, Time Deposits, Repos).
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of trade lifecycle processes (pre-trade through to settlement, positions, and risk management).
• Familiarity with Pricing Curves, Exposure, CSA (Credit Support Annex), and SPO (Special Purpose Order).
• Proficiency in data analysis and mapping, including gap analysis across systems.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server).
• Knowledge of system integration with trading platforms such as FXall, FXGO, GPS, and TradePoint.
• Experience with agile delivery tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Package:

• Initial 6-month contract
• £650 p/day inside IR35
• Hybrid (2x week in London)
