Senior System Engineer
eDV Cleared Senior Systems Engineer – Secure Messaging Programme – Farnborough – Contract (6–12 Months) - £800 per day (Outside IR35)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to support the delivery of a secure messaging solution within a highly regulated environment. This is a senior, hands-on contract role focused on the design, build, testing, and validation of both pre-production and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver a pre-production test environment for a secure messaging system
• Follow vendor build instructions and produce internal build and support documentation
• Install, configure, and support RedHat OpenShift Platform
• Build, test, and validate the production environment
• Plan, track, and report progress to internal and external stakeholders
• Liaise with stakeholders across the client organisation to understand system requirements
• Contribute to and agree test plans with testing teams to prove the solution
• Support customer acceptance, validation, and formal sign-off against requirements
• Ensure buy-in from service operations teams and demonstrate how the solution supports their processes
• Work on-site a minimum of 4 days per week in Farnborough for the duration of the engagement
Skills & Experience:
• Strong experience working to HMG ICT and network standards
• Experience producing documentation aligned to HMG documentation standards
• Proven experience designing and delivering solutions using:
• VMware (Broadcom VCF)
• Linux (RedHat, OpenShift)
• Privileged Access Management
• Auditing and logging policies
• Backup, storage, and IP networking
• Ideally experience contributing to or supporting formal testing activities
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Proven ability to operate in secure, highly regulated environments

Package Details:
• Initial 6-month contract with a very high likelihood of extension to 12 months
• ASAP start
• Negotiable day rate depending on experience
• On-site requirement: minimum 4 days per week (Farnborough)
