IAM Architect – Up to £110,000 + 20% Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Overview:
A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced IAM Architect to design and deliver robust Identity and Access Management solutions across both BAU and project streams. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in IAM architecture and implementation, with the ability to work hands-on and at a strategic level. This is a split role (50% architecture / 50% technical delivery), working closely with technology, business, and project teams to ensure identity services meet evolving business needs and regulatory standards.
The organisation is completing a transition from on-prem to cloud, with upcoming focus areas including defining Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) processes, refining access provisioning, and strengthening IAM governance and operational efficiency. You’ll play a key role in streamlining and enhancing these processes, contributing to integration efforts and a more unified access management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project, business, and BAU teams to understand IAM requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Define and implement JML workflows, segregation of duties (SoD) controls, and access governance frameworks
- Deliver both high-level architectural designs and hands-on configuration/integration work across IAM platforms
- Guide enhancements to provisioning and access management, including privileged access workflows
- Work closely with stakeholders (including occasional US-based teams) to gather requirements and align with global standards
- Contribute to process improvements and IAM roadmap planning across a maturing hybrid cloud environment
- Provide expertise on IAM best practices, governance models, and compliance needs
- Support modernisation efforts within the IAM stack, including integration with SaaS solutions
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience architecting and implementing IAM solutions across complex enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of IAM processes, including JML, role-based access control, SoD, and governance
- Hands-on experience with directory services, APIs, and application integrations (REST/SOAP, LDAP, direct DB, etc.)
- Experience in cloud and on-prem IAM environments, ideally during or after cloud transitions
- Familiarity with RSA IGL (or similar IGA solutions) is highly desirable
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Oracle, Linux, PowerShell, AD, JavaScript, XML
- Experience producing HLD/LLD documentation and leading solution design discussions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences
- Exposure to regulatory requirements and financial services environments is advantageous
