Backend Developer (Go/AWS) - Mid-Level | London

Overview
My client is going through an exciting stage of growth, investing heavily in modernising its platforms with scalable, cloud-native architecture. They're looking for a Backend Developer to take ownership of key Back End systems, working primarily in Go and AWS, and to help mentor junior engineers as the team grows.

London: 1-2 days/week on-site
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000
Employment type: Permanent position

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Back End services and APIs using Go
• Take ownership of key Back End components, from design through to deployment
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions
• Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, databases, and Back End services
• Contribute to architectural decisions around performance, scalability and security
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure to deploy and maintain services
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards

Skills & Experience

• 4-6 years' professional software development experience
• Strong experience with Go
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Solid experience with AWS
• Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Strong engineering background delivering projects end-to-end
• Experience with microservices architecture
