About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Telecoms and Voice Specialist to join our clients Internet Services team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of voice communication systems, including VoIP and unified communications. You'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality voice services, optimising performance, and resolving complex technical challenges. Our client if offering a basic salary between £40,000 to £50,000 to be based in Sittingbourne, Kent with additional benefits.

Working across a wide range of technologies, you'll also support cabling infrastructure (copper and fibre optics), carry out wireless network surveys, and contribute to the delivery of new communication systems. Collaboration is key- you'll work alongside infrastructure engineers and consultants to deliver robust, scalable solutions for our clients.

Core responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain voice communication systems (VoIP & UC).
  • Conduct wireless network surveys to assess coverage, capacity, and performance.
  • Install and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure (copper & fibre).
  • Monitor and optimise network performance to ensure service reliability.
  • Provide technical support across Legacy telephony, VoIP, and carrier services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver new solutions.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation and stay current with emerging telecoms trends.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Core technical skill for this position:
  • Strong experience in VoIP, telephony systems, and carrier voice/data services.
  • Knowledge of copper and fibre cabling installation and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and supporting telecoms infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Industry certifications (eg Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCDA) are highly desirable.
