Sustainability Business Development & Customer Success Officer | Nature & Biodiversity Data (IBAT)
Rare role at the intersection of nature and business, helping banks, corporates, and consultancies act on biodiversity risk using the world's leading biodiversity data platform.
The IBAT Biodiversity Engagement and Outreach Officer will contribute to addressing one of the most urgent global sustainability challenges, the biodiversity crisis, by supporting businesses and financial institutions to integrate biodiversity into their sustainability strategies and wider decision-making. Working at the forefront of the business and biodiversity space, this role helps deliver practical, data-driven solutions through IBAT, the world’s leading biodiversity data platform.
We are looking for a motivated individual to play a central role in driving IBAT’s growth and impact through a combination of business development and customer success, ensuring that IBAT is delivering value by enabling organisations to integrate biodiversity considerations into decision-making around sustainability and wider business objectives.
How you will do this:
Business Development & Customer Success
- Drive IBAT subscription sales and expand global engagement across corporates, financial institutions, consultancies, and platform providers.
- Deliver compelling demos and advise clients on using IBAT to support TNFD-aligned risk assessment, disclosure, and broader business strategy.
- Build trusted client relationships and help organisations turn biodiversity data into actionable insights.
- Capture user feedback to continuously improve the customer experience and shape the product roadmap.
Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Represent IBAT at global sustainability events, webinars, and high-profile forums including COP.
- Contribute to thought leadership and identify new opportunities to grow awareness and engagement.
What we are looking for:
- A commercially minded professional with experience in sales, business development, or customer success within a SaaS, technology, or service-based environment.
- Experience working on sustainability in a business context. Ideally you will have an awareness of frameworks such as TNFD, CSRD, and SBTN, and experience supporting private sector organisations on sustainability strategies and objectives.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in business, sustainability, economics, technology, marketing, or a related field is desirable, alongside strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office; GIS knowledge would be an advantage.
The role is hosted by IBAT Alliance Partner BirdLife International but will be fully placed in the IBAT Secretariat.
