A senior enterprise architecture leader to shape and evolve the core platform estate within a complex, regulated financial services environment. This is not a programme management, delivery oversight or theoretical architecture role. We are looking for a senior technologist who has owned architecture strategy, shaped platform roadmaps, governed complex technology estates and influenced enterprise-scale change across business-critical platforms.
The role will suit someone who understands how large-scale platforms support customer operations, account servicing, transaction processing, workflow, data, reporting, integration, resilience and regulatory control.
You will lead the architecture agenda for a critical platform portfolio, working closely with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, Operations, Security, Data, Risk, Enterprise Architecture and Technology Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own architectural direction across a portfolio of core enterprise platforms
- Define platform strategy, roadmap and target-state architecture
- Lead platform simplification, rationalisation, integration and modernisation
- Translate business, operational and regulatory requirements into scalable technology solutions
- Govern platform design across integration, data, workflow, resilience, reporting, automation and controls
- Establish architecture principles across legacy, cloud, vendor-led, in-house and hybrid delivery models
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, Security, Risk and Architecture teams to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable and aligned to enterprise standards
- Drive reuse, standardisation and interoperability across a complex technology estate
- Influence investment decisions, platform priorities, risks, dependencies and long-term value realisation
- Provide senior architectural challenge on major technology decisions, trade-offs and transformation initiatives
Key Experience
- Strong experience in enterprise architecture, platform architecture or technology strategy within a large, complex organisation
- Proven ownership of platform roadmap, target-state architecture, technology direction or architecture governance
- Experience working with core platforms, systems of record, operational platforms or business-critical technology estates
- Strong understanding of cloud, APIs, integration, distributed systems, data platforms, workflow, resilience and platform governance
- Experience simplifying complex technology landscapes through rationalisation, standardisation, reuse and modernisation
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Operations, Security, Data, Risk and Business leadership
- Experience operating in regulated environments such as financial services, asset management, wealth, pensions, insurance, banking or another highly controlled sector
- Credibility with both executive stakeholders and technical teams
- Ability to design architecture, platform direction and operating models — not simply manage project delivery
- Strong judgement around resilience, control, security, regulatory expectations and long-term platform sustainability
