QA & Test Engineer (Safety-Critical / Embedded Systems)

I’m currently working with a fast-growing deep tech start-up building advanced safety systems for AI and autonomous technologies.

They’re looking for a QA & Test Engineer with strong experience in embedded and safety-critical environments to help validate complex hardware-software systems.

⚠️ Please note:

Candidates must be British citizens and either hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.

💡 What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and executing test strategies for safety-critical embedded software
• Working across Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments
• Testing integrated hardware and software systems
• Building and maintaining automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborating with software, hardware and AI teams

🔧 Must-have experience:

• Embedded systems / firmware / RTOS testing
• Hands-on experience with HIL / SIL environments
• Hardware + software integration testing
• Experience with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262 or IEC 61508)
• Automation using Python (pytest, gtest or similar)
• CI/CD pipelines (hands-on, not just usage)

➕ Nice to have:

• ROS, Gazebo or robotics simulation experience

📍 Location: Oxfordshire (3 days on-site)
