Senior Data Engineer – Investment Technology

London | £85,000 + 20% bonus | Onsite

I’m working with a real estate investment firm that is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join their investment/acquisitions team.

This is a hands-on, business-facing data role focused on improving how the firm uses data across research, deal sourcing, acquisitions, finance and asset management.

The business is moving away from Excel-heavy processes and building more robust, automated data infrastructure to support investment decision-making. You’ll be working closely with the Head of Research & Technology and sitting directly alongside the investment team.

The role will involve:

• Building and improving data pipelines across Snowflake and related systems

• Automating Excel-based financial and research models into maintainable Python logic

• Supporting reporting outputs into Tableau / Power BI

• Improving data quality, reliability and observability across the platform

• Building CI/CD processes and orchestration workflows using Airflow or similar tools

• Working directly with investment, research, finance and asset management stakeholders

• Helping the business improve efficiency through automation

• Supporting future initiatives around systematic investment signals and AI/automation workflows

• Acting as a senior technical figure within a small data team

They’re looking for someone with:

• 4+ years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or data platform work

• Strong Python and SQL

• Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse experience

• CI/CD experience

• Airflow or similar orchestration experience

• Strong understanding of data pipelines, modelling and automation

• Experience working with reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI

• Confidence working directly with non-technical stakeholders

• A commercially minded, high-ownership approach

Experience in real estate, private equity, investment management, asset management or broader financial services would be beneficial, but the priority is someone with strong data engineering fundamentals who can work closely with the business.

This is a fast-moving, high-ownership environment and would suit someone who wants to sit close to the investment function and build data infrastructure that directly supports commercial decision-making.

Package: £85,000 base + 20% bonus

Location: London, onsite
