Distributed Network Engineer/Architect
We are supporting a fast-scaling semiconductor company developing next-generation networking and security technology. They are looking to hire an experienced Distributed Network Engineer/Architect to join their fast growing team in London This is a hands-on staff engineer position with ownership of distributed networking architecture and design decisions that span multiple teams, acting as the fulcrum across their networking, security and distributed system teams. You will be taking technical (Design/Architecture/Implementation) ownership over large-scale network and control plane systems that operate at global scale across cloud and networking domains, defining and driving the technical strategy for routing, switching, and networking control planes at enterprise and ISP scale. Key skills/experience required: Extensive hands-on experience in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or telecom networking, with a track record of staff-level or equivalent impact Deep expertise in routing protocols TCP/IP, QoS, DHCP, and data center / cloud networking architectures Strong backend engineering skills in Rust/Go with production-grade distributed systems experience Proven ability to design systems processing PB-scale data with multi-tenant isolation and high availability Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker and at least one major cloud platform (OCI, AWS, or equivalent) Deep understanding of low-level systems: packet processing, hardware interaction and control plane & data plane optimization Excellent written and verbal communication — ability to author RFCs, present to leadership, and align distributed teams around a technical direction You must be resident in the UK and be eligible for SC clearance If this role is of interest, please contact Matt Andrews at IC Resources
