Principal Photonics Architect

My client is seeking a Principal Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Engineer in the UK to work on the design and development of next-generation high-speed photonic ICs for advanced optical systems. Responsibilities Lead the architecture and design of high-speed PICs for optical communications and sensing Develop and optimise photonic devices (e.g., modulators, detectors, waveguides) for high-bandwidth operation Perform modelling, simulation, and layout of integrated photonic circuits Work closely with electronics, packaging, and systems teams to deliver integrated solutions Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers within the photonics team Requirements PhD or MSc in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Significant experience designing photonic integrated circuits Strong understanding of high-speed optical device physics and photonic design tools Track record of delivering complex engineering projects Desirable Experience with silicon photonics or heterogeneous integration platforms Knowledge of high-speed optical transceivers or coherent communication systems If you have good background in Photonic ICs, please get in touch with Phil Wright at IC Resources.
