Senior Storage & Legacy Data Consultant

Company: Intelligent Data & Tape Solutions Ltd ( IDATS ) specialise in the access and management of legacy data, particularly stored on tape and have created a portfolio of products and services that access, liberates, migrates and deletes data without using the original systems or infrastructure used to create it.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role where you will consult with Global organisations to understand their data landscapes, design strategic migration paths, and lead the successful implementation of those solutions.

You aren’t just a technician; you are a strategic advisor who understands how data is stored and used and the importance of applying the correct retention policies

  • Tape Systems : Strong knowledge of tape technologies and their use.
  • Data Literacy : Expert understanding of data formats, database structures, and the nuances of legacy “dark data.”
  • Migration Expertise : Hands-on experience with large-scale data movement, protocol conversion, and integrity verification.
  • Legacy Systems : Familiarity with tape libraries, mainframe storage, or aging hardware environments that require specialised restoration workflows.

Professional Requirements

  • Consultative Approach : Proven ability to ask the right questions to uncover hidden business needs and data dependencies.
  • Global Mindset : Ability and willingness to travel internationally and work across diverse cultures and time zones.
  • Communication : Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to explain the “why” behind technical decisions.

Why This Role?

This position offers the opportunity to solve the most difficult “data puzzles” in the industry.
