D365 Finance Transformation Project Manager (D365 F&O)
D365 Finance Transformation Project Manager (D365 F&O) — Contract
£500–550 per day | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (Central London, 3 days per week)
I’m working with a global organisation that is investing heavily in its finance transformation capability and is looking for an experienced D365 Finance & Operations Project Manager to lead a number of critical programmes.
This role sits right at the centre of Group Finance change. You’ll work closely with CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, and local finance teams to deliver a modern, standardised finance platform across multiple operating companies.
The emphasis is firmly on finance rather than IT. They need someone who understands finance processes in depth, can engage credibly with senior finance stakeholders, and can drive delivery from strategy through to adoption.
The role
You’ll lead end-to-end delivery of D365 Finance & Operations initiatives, from discovery and solution design through to deployment, stabilisation, and embedding into the business.
Working alongside Group Finance, you’ll ensure the solution supports core processes such as financial control, reporting, consolidation, compliance, and period close, while helping to standardise ways of working across the organisation.
This is a hands-on delivery role within a small, capable team. You’ll be responsible for building robust plans, managing risks and dependencies, coordinating functional and technical teams, and providing clear reporting to senior stakeholders and Steering Committees.
There may be interaction with other enterprise systems, but the primary focus is finance transformation using D365 F&O.
What they’re looking for
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end D365 Finance & Operations implementations
- Strong knowledge of core D365 Finance modules including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting
- Deep understanding of finance processes, controls, and reporting within complex organisations
- Experience working directly with CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, and senior finance teams
- A delivery-focused mindset with strong governance skills including planning, RAID management, budgeting, and dependency tracking
- Ability to operate comfortably at both detailed delivery level and executive reporting level
- Proactive approach with the confidence to drive progress and challenge when needed
- Desirable: experience with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools or programmes (e.g. planning, consolidation, forecasting solutions)
- Exposure to CRM or other enterprise systems is helpful but not essential
Why this role is interesting
You’ll be joining a small, high-impact transformation team with strong executive sponsorship and real autonomy. The work is complex, visible, and genuinely business-critical.
If you enjoy partnering closely with senior finance leaders and delivering programmes that change how organisations operate, this is a strong opportunity.
If you’d like to discuss or want more detail, feel free to message me directly.
