About The Role

The Business Analyst (BA) plays a key role in enabling successful change by ensuring that people, processes, and technology are aligned and ready before, during, and after implementation.

The BA works with stakeholders to understand business needs, assess the impact of change, define and analyse requirements, and map processes to support effective initiation and delivery of change.

The role also supports the planning and co‐ordination of readiness activities to enable adoption and benefits realisation once solutions move into business‐as‐usual. This role spans the full change lifecycle, supporting initiatives of varying size and complexity across multiple functions, and promoting consistent, mature ways of working.

The BA bridges business need and technology delivery — working across the change portfolio to ensure readiness and adoption, while also owning the requirements lifecycle for new and enhanced business applications. As the Business Applications function matures, the role will progressively shift toward deeper application ownership, system optimisation, and technical solution design.

Main Responsibilities

  • Requirements gathering & analysis: Facilitate workshops, document requirements in the appropriate format, and validate with stakeholders, ensuring delivery teams have clear, agreed, and decision-ready inputs that reduce rework and misalignment.
  • Application requirements & enhancement: Own the requirements lifecycle for new and enhanced business applications — from opportunity identification and options appraisal through functional specification, solution validation, and post-implementation review — ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, well-documented, and aligned to the technology roadmap.
  • Process mapping & improvement: Map as-is and to-be processes and drive measurable continuous improvement resulting in simpler, more efficient ways of working that support consistent and scalable change.
  • Impact assessment: Conduct impact assessments to identify the risks and dependencies of change to ensure initiatives are designed and sequenced with a clear understanding of their people, process, and operational impacts.
  • Readiness & deployment: Plan and co-ordinate readiness activities including comms, training and UAT to enable confident adoption and minimise disruption at go-live.
  • Benefits realisation: Define benefit measures at initiation, track realisation post-deployment, and report outcomes to project sponsors and the PMO.
  • Governance: Support best practice, good project governance and agile ways of working through development of artefacts and participation in key ceremonies and routines, helping embed consistent, proportionate ways of working that improve delivery maturity over time.
  • Demand intake & prioritisation: Own the intake of new demand from business stakeholders, ensuring requests are clearly scoped, justified against business value, and prioritised in partnership with function leads.
  • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.
