Location: Either our London or Cambridge office, with some travel between the two.
Salary: £54,075.00 per annum
Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)
“We work to make the internet a safer place.” Never has a truer word been spoken of the Internet Watch Foundation. Our work is trusted by police, governments, and technology companies. Our tech-for-good services are used by over 200 companies, including some of the tech giants. And now you could be part of our team to help us in our mission.
The fight against online child sexual abuse needs funders who think big. At IWF, we find and remove child sexual abuse imagery from the internet and the trusts, foundations and philanthropists who back us help us go further every year. We're looking for someone to open doors to new supporters and turn them into lasting partnerships.
As our New Business Development Manager, reporting to our Development & Income Director, you'll lead IWF's search for new income, with a particular focus on trusts and foundations. You'll identify and cultivate prospective funders, philanthropic donors and commercial partners, take them from first contact through to proposal, negotiation and agreement, and help diversify the income that sustains our work.
What you'll be doing
- Building and managing a high-quality pipeline of trusts, foundations, philanthropic donors and commercial prospects
- Researching funder priorities and developing tailored cases for support, proposals and applications
- Leading pitches and negotiations to secure sustainable, multi-year funding
- Developing innovative partnership propositions that translate IWF's expertise and impact for different audiences
- Growing a network of senior contacts, advisors and intermediaries who can open up new opportunities
- Representing IWF at events, conferences and roundtables
- Reporting on pipeline, forecasts and progress against income targets
Who we're looking for
You'll have a proven track record of securing new income from trusts and foundations, and of managing a business development pipeline from prospecting through to conversion. You'll be an excellent writer and communicator, able to turn complex work into persuasive cases for support, and confident engaging senior decision-makers. You'll be commercially aware, strategic and highly organised, with the judgement to balance income generation with IWF's values.
Experience in the technology, nonprofit or online safety sectors, or familiarity with safeguarding and digital child protection issues, would be a real advantage. Above all, you'll share our commitment to protecting children online.
All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks prior to confirmation of employment.
£54,075.00 per annum + benefits which include generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, life assurance, private health care, cycle to work scheme. We also have on-site parking.
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week. This role can be based in either our London or Cambridge office, with some travel between the two. We are a family-friendly employer and take a flexible approach around personal commitments when agreeing work patterns.
