Business Development Manager - SaaS
Job Purpose
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow our new customer base by converting inbound enquiries and generating outbound opportunities. You'll manage the full sales cycle — from qualifying leads through to negotiating and closing deals — and work closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, product and operations to hit revenue targets.
This role suits someone who enjoys hunting for new business, building relationships, and clearly communicating the value of a product to prospective customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, accurate pipeline of opportunities and ensure customer activity is logged correctly in the CRM.
- Build and manage a forecastable pipeline, working opportunities efficiently to deliver against revenue goals.
- Run the full sales lifecycle, including qualification, discovery, proposals, negotiation, and closing.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, operations, product) to support deals and ensure a smooth customer journey.
- Identify and engage new prospects through cold outreach, while also responding promptly to inbound enquiries.
- Deliver compelling product pitches and demos, and support the creation of proposals, pricing and commercial documentation.
- Clearly communicate product value, gather feedback from prospects, and handle objections professionally.
- Manage ongoing prospect communication via email and phone to agreed service standards.
- Keep product and sales knowledge up to date through formal training and independent learning.
Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven approach
- 3+ years' experience in new business / new logo sales
- Confident prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations)
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals
- Able to clearly explain product value and impact to customers
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a sales team
Knowledge & Tools
- Experience using CRMs (Salesforce experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC)
- Experience selling SaaS / technology products (developer tools exposure beneficial)
