OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Cloud Platforms (Python, Go, Typescript) Software Engineer to join our Cloud Platforms team. In this role, you will develop and maintain the cloud SDKs and distributed services that power applications for millions of developers. You will work on projects that bridge the gap between frontend interfaces and complex cloud infrastructure. You will join a talented team, solving architectural challenges across APIs and services while shaping the technical direction of our cloud-based integrations.

To excel in our Cloud Platforms team, you should recognise yourself in the following:
- Professional Maturity: You have established experience in professional software environments. You understand that cloud engineering is about more than just shipping code. You prioritise reliability, maintainability, and the long-term scalability of your services.
- Technical Versatility: You are highly proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript, and you possess the engineering depth to adapt to other languages like Python, Go-lang, and, develop other backend environments. You are comfortable working across APIs, services, and distributed systems.
- AI-augmented Engineering: You utilise LLM-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude alongside agentic systems to balance active development with ongoing maintenance. You have the technical depth to orchestrate these tools and ensure that architectural integrity and code quality remain your own.
- Proactive Communication: You understand that remote work thrives on transparency, especially when managing complex backend systems. You enjoy leading technical demos and providing clear, asynchronous updates to internal teams and external stakeholders without being prompted.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- SDK Development: Develop high-quality, well-documented SDKs using languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Go-lang, covering front-end, back-end, libraries, APIs, and tools.
- Developer Experience: Design intuitive, robust, and comprehensive APIs, developer tools, and documentation that enhance productivity for millions of users worldwide.
- Technical Ownership: Debug and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining high code quality through rigorous reviews and contributing to the team's engineering standards.
- Community & Client Collaboration: Contribute to public-facing open-source projects on GitHub and collaborate directly with engineers at global technology partners to define the future of their platforms.
- Testing & DevOps: Own the reliability of your output by writing comprehensive unit/integration tests and participating in modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Innovation & Mentorship: Explore new technologies, deliver innovation of SDK development, and mentor junior developers.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional Software Engineering role.
- Programming Languages: Highly proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript with a proven ability to leverage AI-assisted workflows to rapidly adapt and contribute across Python, Go, and other back-end environments.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Firebase, Supabase).
- API Development: Experience developing and consuming web APIs and RESTful services.
- Front-End Fundamentals: Understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) to ensure the SDKs you build provide a seamless integration experience for frontend engineers.
- GitHub & Open Source: Familiarity with GitHub workflows and a passion for open-source development.
- AI-Assisted Development: Proficiency using AI development tools as part of the engineering workflow, with a curiosity for exploring new tools and improving how the team works.
- DevOps: Hands-on experience with DevOps processes, particularly CI/CD pipelines.
- Residency: Physically located in the UK with a permanent right to work (no sponsorship available).
