Contract Business Analyst – GDPR & Data Compliance – Birmingham/ Hybrid
£529/ day inside ir35.
Role Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support our client with a major transformation project focused on improving data protection workflows and processes. You'll play a key role in reviewing current systems, defining future-state solutions, and helping the organisation prepare for increased demands arising from new legislation (STAIRs). This role will support the group's ambition to implement a unified and highly automated data protection system. This should reduce the reliance on manual spreadsheets and legacy InfoPath forms and improving efficiency in DSAR fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships across business and technology teams; produce RASCI charts and stakeholder matrices to ensure effective engagement.
- Plan, organise and deliver stakeholder workshops to support current-state analysis and requirements gathering.
- Produce detailed "as-is" process models, identify pain points, capture process volumes and metrics, and summarise stakeholder feedback to establish a clear baseline.
- Map and outline high-level "to-be" processes using appropriate process modelling techniques.
- Develop, prioritise, and validate a high-level backlog with business stakeholders; collaborate with technology teams on feasibility.
- Apply business context and requirements to procurement and vendor selection activities.
- Contribute to the RAID log, supporting ongoing risk identification, mitigation, and issue management.
Key Skills required:
- Strong, demonstrable core BA competencies including documentation, analysis, and requirements management.
- Excellent BPMN skills and proficiency with Visio.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, eliciting and prioritising requirements.
- Strong understanding of requirements traceability and governance.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ability to plan and recommend appropriate BA approaches based on context.
- Clear, confident, and effective communication style.
- Pragmatic and adaptable, able to tailor detail to different audiences.
- Proactive, self-driven and able to work independently.
- Industry experience: Housing or property management sector (highly desirable).
- Experience with data protection systems/legislation (advantageous).
