Cyber Security Architect
You've probably scrolled past at least 12 cyber jobs this week.
All of them claiming to offer "exciting challenges," "cutting-edge clients," and a "dynamic environment."
Which usually means: "We have no idea what makes this job interesting, so here's some generic noise to fill the space."
This isn't that.
My client works with the organisations that quietly stop the country from falling over: government, policing, defence, and the bits of national infrastructure you only notice when they break.
If you want to do work that matters - this is where it tends to hide.
They want Principal-level Security Architect/Consultants to come and join their MOD/Defence team.
-Not PowerPoint theorists.
-Not people who need a committee to decide what secure looks like.
-People who can think and do.
You'll probably like this if you enjoy:
- Designing secure systems for defence programmes that aren't just vanity projects.
- Turning complex technical risk into English - even for senior people who still think "patching" involves thread and a needle.
- Building architectures that don't crumble the second a threat actor sneezes.
- Being around smart people who take cyber seriously but not themselves.
You'll probably need:
- Experience in messy, complex ICT or cyber environments.
- A solid grip on Information Assurance, Technical Delivery, and the frameworks everyone pretends to understand.
- Enough confidence to talk to senior stakeholders without breaking into a sweat.
- A working relationship with JSPs, SABSA, TOGAF.
- SC clearance - and the willingness (and eligibility) to go through DV.
Bonus points if:
- You've worked in CEMA.
- You've worked on systems you're still not allowed to talk about.
The setup: Hybrid, with trips along the M4 corridor.
The money: Up to ~£95k. Possibly more if you can genuinely deliver, not just say you can.
If you're curious, let's talk.
Worst case, you'll get a conversation with someone who actually read your profile instead of just carpet-bombing the "Connect" button.
