Finance Systems Accountant
Systems Accountant required within an established and highly successful large business based in Amersham.
The role sits within a fast paced finance team and requires an accountant with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
This key role and brand new hire gives you the opportunity to make the role your own with a focus on development, maintenance and optimisation of the finance systems moving forward.
Dynamics 365 is a number of Months into the implementation phase with a view to going live in 2026. This is not an implementation role, although the winning candidate will support this gaining valuable insight to the project as it moves forward to go-live.
Whilst reporting into the Finance and Controls Manager you will ultimately own and administer the efficient running and operations of the ERP system with regards to all financial transaction flows and operating aspects.
Objectives and day-to-day:
- To have an end-to-end understanding of the Finance processes and grasp for how financial data flows from source systems (like Point of Sale or Delivery systems) through to reporting tools.
- Technical support for the Finance team; to be able to troubleshoot system issues and support and train the team with software use
- Instrumental in customised solutions for future system enhancements and upgrades; design solutions that improve process efficiency, compliance that is scalable across the business.
- To be able to write up a business case that is both clear to both executive and developer levels for the investment.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks
- Prepare and optimise financial set up and design of the systemic controls
- Responsible for systemic implementation of internal controls, to meet data accuracy, audit / regulatory standards
- Collaboration with Finance Operational & Reporting teams, Technology, Compliance and Operations to understand how changes in one area impact on other
- Map process to system application and vice-versa
Ideal candidate profile:
- Proficiency in Microsoft D365 with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Essentially from a Retail or Multi site environment
- Ideally fully qualified or part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), and have practical experience with system implementations and financial reporting tools.
- Proven experience administering and optimising ERP platforms and accounting software
- Strong clear communication skills and able to communicate precisely to all levels including senior leadership.
- Highly motivated and resourceful, capable of working on initiative, as individual or part of a team.
- Ability to build & maintain strong relationships with the stakeholder & wider teams.
