Senior Network Automation Engineer
We're looking for a Senior Network Automation Engineer for our public sector client on a contract running to March 2027 (Inside IR35). This is a hybrid role with approximately 3 days per week on-site.
You are able to work from the following office locations - Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Blackpool.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not an operations or monitoring position. You will design, implement and evolve enterprise-scale network and cloud infrastructure, develop automated workflows and drive CI/CD-driven infrastructure deployment across hybrid and cloud environments. Candidates must be able to demonstrate real, production-grade delivery across network engineering, automation and cloud.
You will need proven hands-on experience in the following:
- Enterprise networking including BGP and OSPF in complex environments
- Palo Alto firewalls and policy design across on-prem and cloud, aligned to Zero Trust principles
- Network automation using Python and/or Ansible in production environments
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent
- CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD for infrastructure deployment into cloud environments
- Hybrid cloud networking across Azure, AWS or OCI
- Data centre technologies including VXLAN, EVPN, VRF segmentation and multi-site fabrics
- High-availability network architecture including routing, segmentation and resilience
Experience with Aruba Central, ClearPass, SD-WAN, F5 BIG-IP or modernising legacy network environments would be advantageous.
You will need to hold or be able to pass SC clearance for this role.
